JoAnn Schoelkopf Kean was born at Camp Pendleton Marine Base, CA where her father was stationed as a Marine lawyer.  JoAnn was raised in the tiny Pennsylvania Dutch town of Red Hill, PA and is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Art (now the University of Arts) in Philadelphia, PA, where she studied Illustration.

While JoAnn and her husband raised their 2 children in Glenolden, PA, she continued to create art for herself and her family and friends, painting wooden boxes, plaques, and furniture, plein air watercolors at the South Jersey shore, creating annual Holiday and Occasional cards, and painting and drawing landscapes, homes, and pet and people portraits.

With the kids grown and out of the house, JoAnn is enjoying the opportunity to devote more time to her artwork.  She looks forward to providing her artistic talent to exciting new projects and commissions.
